19-year-old suspect nabbed for woman’s murder on the Cape Flats

Police have arrested a 19-year-old suspect for murder after the body of a 32-year-old woman was found in Elsies River on the Cape Flats.

Police Spokesperson, Captain FC Van Wyk, says officers responded to a tip-off about a shooting in the area.

He says upon arrival they found the body in the front yard with a bullet wound to the left cheek.

Van Wyk says the suspect was found at a local premises.

The motive behind the incident is under investigation.

Van Wyk says the 19-year-old man will appear at the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court soon.
