The African National Congress (ANC) will hold its  National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting this morning until Saturday at Boksburg on Gauteng’s East Rand.

This is the first NEC meeting since the May 29 elections.

In a statement, the ANC says it will reflect on the elections, the state of the organisation and its programmes going forward.

The NEC meeting will then be followed by a NEC Lekgotla from Sunday until Tuesday, which includes representatives from provinces and cadres deployed as Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Premiers and Executive Mayors.

Its core task will be to elaborate on a policy programme for the party in government, arising out of the six priorities of the manifesto and the decisions of the NEC.

These priorities include driving inclusive growth and job creation, reducing poverty and tackling the high cost of living as well as building a capable, ethical and developmental state among others.
