2.5 magnitude earthquake hits southern parts of Joburg

The Council for GeoScience has confirmed that a 2.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in parts of Johannesburg last night.

It says the epicentre was in the south of the city, west of Doornkop and Soweto.

This is the third such earthquake to be recorded in months.

The Joburg Emergency Services spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi says they have not received any reports of injuries or damage.
