The Johannesburg Metro Police has asked motorists to use alternative routes after a cash-in-transit robbery on the N12 between the Diepkloof and Uncle Charlie interchanges in Aeroton, near Southgate.

JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla says police are currently on the scene where a cash-in-transit heist has taken place earlier this morning. The road remains open to traffic.

“The freeway has not been closed off to traffic, traffic is heavy on the N12 East from the Diepkloof interchange and also expect heavy delays on the N12 West this is due to onlookers. Motorists are urged to exercise caution and to avoid the N12.”
