DA chief whip in uMngeni, Nhlalayenza Ndlovu to be laid to rest today

The Democratic Alliance (DA)’s KwaZulu-Natal leadership is expected to attend the funeral service of the party’s Chief Whip in the uMngeni Municipality.

Nhlalayenza Ndlovu was gunned down at his home in Mpophomeni, Howick, earlier this week.

uMngeni is the only DA-run municipality in the province.

Meanwhile, the party has increased its reward for information leading to the arrest of Ndlovu’s killers
from R100,000 to R1 million.

This while the party has also appointed a private investigation team to track down the killers.

Ndlovu’s funeral is due to be held in the Mpofana area near Mooi River in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.

The DA’s provincial leader Francois Rodgers will lead a delegation of party leaders, public representatives and party activists who will be attending the funeral.

Among them are uMngeni Mayor Chris Pappas, DA’s provincial chairperson Dean Macpherson, as well as DA members of Parliament and the Provincial Legislature.

Shortly after Ndlovu’s death, the party said it would temporarily halt their election campaign in the province to give Ndlovu’s family a chance to mourn.
