The executive committee of the newly established uMkhonto Wesizwe party in the Sol Plaatje Municipality, Northern Cape, remains undeterred by the impending legal battle with the ANC over the party’s name and logo.

This declaration came to light during a recruitment drive held in Galeshewe, Kimberley, on Saturday.

The ANC has initiated legal proceedings against the uMkhonto Wesizwe party, taking the dispute to the Electoral Court.

Despite the looming court battle, the spokesperson for the MK Party in Sol Plaatje Municipality, Mzi Mdunge, has expressed confidence and nonchalance about the situation.

Mdunge conveyed the enthusiasm of the local communities, stating, “People are waiting for us in Dikgatlong; people are waiting for us in Magareng; people are waiting for us in Phokwane. They are saying let us grow this party, which is going to be the solution for the challenges we’re experiencing in the Northern Cape in particular.”
