British King Charles III is set to seek treatment for an enlarged prostate.

Buckingham Palace has announced that the condition is benign. The British King took over from his late mother Queen Elizabeth the second in 2022.

According to the statement released by Buckingham Palace, Charles will be admitted to hospital next week for a corrective procedure. It also says the King’s engagements will be postponed for a short period of recuperation.

The announcement comes after his daughter in law Kate, the Princess of Wales had undergone abdominal surgery.

She will remain in hospital for 10 to 15 days before returning home to continue her recovery.

Kensington Palace will provide update on the princess when there’s significant new information to share.
