Political Analyst, Thobani Zikalala says the MK Party could change the local political landscape, but he’s expressed concern about the party removing 18 MPs from the National Assembly within a short space of time.

The axed members are alleged to have abused the party’s trust by putting names on the party’s list to parliament that were not supposed to have been there, among other things.

He says this portrays chaos and instability in the eye of the electorate.

“We understand that the party is in its formation stage and therefore, may not have an elected leadership, which has a particular term of office. But even then with appointed leadership, there should be some sense of stability and clarity,” says Zikalala.

“It seems as if some in the leadership of the party sleep today and wake up with a different decision tomorrow. The strategy the spokesperson speaks about, the idea of including experienced people it’s all good and better strategy, but how it is executed also reflects a particular way with the electorate. You don’t want to seem to the electorate as if you are disorganised or don’t care,” he adds.
