The ex-wife of convicted child killer, Marius van der Westhuizen, says getting justice is multi-layered and often an exhausting process.

This comes after the parole of child murderer, Van der Westhuizen, was overturned by the Parole Review Board.

After killing his three children in 2006 in his then wife’s presence, he was initially set for release at the end of July after serving 13 of his 24 years sentence.

His now former wife, police officer Charlotte van der Westhuizen, vehemently opposed granting of parole to the mass murderer.

“It is important for me as a mother, as a woman, as a police officer that the voices of the victims of crimes are heard in our country especially when we have an epidemic of crimes against women and children.”
