Qatar Airways has announced that it would acquire a 25-percent stake in South African carrier Airlink.
This as the Doha based airline seeks to expand its presence on the continent.
Qatar Airways Chief Executive Badr Mohammed Al Meer announced the investment alongside Airlink Chief Executive Rodger Foster at a press conference in Doha.

The investment would allow Airlink to expand to new markets in Africa, potentially in East and West Africa, Foster said.
Al Meer also said Qatar Airways is working to finalise a long-planned investment for 49-percent of Rwanda’s state-owned airline, RwandAir.
