International Relations Minister Ronald Lamola says countries like Norway can help South Africa resolve its socio-economic challenges.
He is hosting his Norwegian counterpart Espen Barth Eide in Pretoria.
Lamola says the relationship between Norway and South Africa dates back to the dark days of apartheid.
“Norway stands out as a beacon of unwavering support to the people of South Africa. It is among the few nations that extended their hand to the African National Congress during our most trying times during apartheid rule.”
He adds: “As President Mandela articulated honouring King Herald the Fifth and I quote: ‘We shall never forget the support of the Norwegian people along with other Nordic countries, you made available humanitarian aid without any conditions’.”
