Thousands of rugby supporters are making a beeline to enter the DHL Stadium in Cape Town for the epic clash between the Springboks and the All Blacks.

There is a strong All Blacks support base in Cape Town which is said to be the largest outside of New Zealand.

Supporters on both sides are convinced that their teams will emerge victorious in the game that kicks off at 5 p.m. Saturday.

“We’ve done it three times already, we’re quite comfortable. Our strategy will yield a fourth win as well,” says one supporter. “I’ve been supporting New Zealand since I was …. my first word was haka.”

“Biggest game of all time. So for us, it is important for us to win this one as well to put the All Blacks in place,” explains another supporter.

The Springboks are playing for the Rugby Championship, which they haven’t won since 2019, but they are also playing for the Freedom Cup, which is exclusively contested between the Boks and the All Blacks, and the World Cup Champions have not held that since 2009.

In fact, none of this group, which includes many two-time world champions, has ever held the Freedom Cup, and according to captain Siya Kolisi, the closest any of them have got is when they walk past it.
