African National Congress (ANC) Deputy Chairperson in Gauteng Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko says the party is open to working with any other political party in the province’s various regions.

There are murmurs that there may be a change in leadership in the Tshwane metro with plans to topple the Democratic Alliance (DA)’s Cilliers Brink from the mayoral position as a motion of no confidence looms against him.

The ANC was meant to address this and other matters during a press briefing at Luthuli House on Saturday.

Nkomo-Ralehoko spoke to the SABC on the sidelines of the National Working Committee meeting with the Regional Executive Committee in Ekurhuleni.

Nkomo-Ralehoko has also poured cold water on perceptions that the party would lose further ground during the local government elections to be held in 2026.

The party saw a great decline at the May national and provincial elections.

The ANC’s National Working Committee is around the country, engaging with the different Regional Executive Committee (REC) and reviewing its structures.

ANC Deputy President Paul Mashatile to engage Ekurhuleni structures:

Nkomo-Ralehoko says the different regions in Gauteng, particularly in Ekurhuleni, are ensuring that the regions are stable and that the lives of residents are changed.

“The ANC is not going to lose further ground, especially in this region because the mayor that has been deployed here by the organisation Dr Xhakaza, from day one with his team of MMCs, they have been on the ground.

“The second issue which we have done, which I am happy about is to make sure that we bring stability to the finances of the region. So this is one area that we are going to make sure that we change the lives of the people of Ekurhuleni. we bring back the old programmes that were there that were now going down the drain.”
