Three killed in SUV and truck crash in Mpumalanga

Three have died and one seriously injured after a SUV collided with a truck on the R40 between Barberton and Mbombela, in Mpumalanga, late this afternoon.

All the occupants of the SUV died on the scene, after the vehicle caught fire, burning them beyond recognition.

The truck driver was seriously injured and transported to a nearby hospital.

The road has since been closed and motorists are advised to use the Kaapsehoop Road.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.

Rain, wet and icy conditions have been reported across the province.

Motorists have once again been urged to be careful on the road as inclement weather is expected this weekend.
