LIVE: Repatriation and restitution homecoming ceremony

The repatriation and restitution homecoming ceremony of South African freedom fighters whose remains were buried in Zambia and Zimbabwe during the apartheid era takes place at the Freedom Park Heritage Site and Museum in Pretoria today.

The remains of 42 liberation heroes and heroines were received at the Waterkloof Air Force Base in Centurion on Wednesday. They include former ANC secretary-general Duma Nokwe, former PAC leader Letsholo Edwin Makoti and renowned journalist Todd Matshikiza.

The repatriation and restitution homecoming ceremony forms part of Heritage Month.
