The DA in Gauteng says it wants to prioritise talks with the ANC on a provincial and national level, to find a way to reinstate ousted Tshwane Mayor, Cilliers Brink.
The party confirmed that it will ask its national leaders to use the GNU channels to possibly broker a new deal that might see Brink reinstated.
Brink was voted out of his position yesterday after the ANC tabled a motion of no confidence against him, citing a slew of failures in the municipality.
The ANC is now looking at a new power-sharing deal with various political parties.
The DA briefed the media in Pretoria this morning, saying there’s still a chance to bring Brink back as Tshwane Mayor.
The party’s Gauteng leader, Solly Msimanga, confirmed that the DA will field Brink as a mayoral candidate.
