CUT, F State government to establish artificial intelligence hub

Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Technology Professor Alfred Ngowi says they have been working with the Free State government to establish a hub for artificial intelligence.

This comes ahead of Science and Innovation Minister, Blade Nzimande’s launch of National Science Week.

Minister, Blade Nzimande takes us through the essence of Astro-Tourism:

Professor, Ngowi says they hub includes a centre for Food Security and Biotechnology.

“As CUT, we have been in the forefront of technology. We engage with so called emerging technology. You might know the fourth industrial revolution and we work very closely with the provincial government.

We have held two provincial summits for fourth industrial revolution, and really this propelled to the point that we have now established a hub for artificial intelligence institute of South Africa. So, in combination with the other research centres which includes centre for applied food security.”
