Premier Soccer League defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns came from behind to beat a determined Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg earlier this afternoon. Sundowns are still top of the log after registering three wins in a row.

There was great interest in the match with hosts Chiefs and Sundowns having won their two opening matches of the season. Amakhosi had a dream start when they scored first in the early stages of the match though Ranga Chivaviro. But the Brazilians scored two goals in six minutes to take the lead before half-time.

Brazilian Lucas Ribeiro equalised for Sundowns in the 31st minute. Then Bafana Bafana forward Iqraam Rayners turned the game around and gave Sundowns the the lead six minutes later.

Chiefs will feel hard done when their equalising goal late in the match did not count after a foul was committed.

Betway Premiership newcomers Magesi F.C are punching above their weight in South Africa’s top flight football. Magesi collected another point in their fourth match of the season after playing to a goalless draw against Royal AM at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

After losing their two opening matches of the season Magesi regrouped and beat Golden Arrows 1-nil in their previous match and collected maximum points.
