Despite failing to triple its representation in Parliament as they had hoped, Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) President Mzwanele Nyhontso says he is happy at his party’s performance. With over 36 000 votes, Nyhontso is set to return to Parliament after his party secured one seat in the elections.

The PAC has had one seat since the 2014 elections and was hoping to have three after these polls. Nyhontso says they are nevertheless happy with what they have.

“We are doing very well. We are happy these were difficult elections. But against all odds we have survived, we have made it. We have proved everyone wrong who have been saying the PAC is not comin g back and every lections your political analysts have been predicting that the PAC is not coming back and we keep proving them wrong and we are happy we are still getting some votes we are still hoping to get more seat that’s all we are hoping for.”
