Accused in Luke Fleurs’ murder back in court

Six men accused of the hijacking and murder of Kaizer Chiefs defender, Luke Fleurs, are expected to be back in the Roodepoort MagistrateCourt the west of Johannesburg this morning.

The accused appeared in court last month, however, it was postponed because the state wanted to take DNA tests for one of the accused. 

Fleurs was shot and killed during a hijacking incident in Roodepoort in April.

The accused face charges of murder, robbery and defeating the ends of justice.

They remain in custody.

During his memorial service at the FNB Stadium, members of the football fraternity pleaded with government to make South Africa safer.
