SABC Specialist Economics researcher, Veli Mthiyane says economists are in favour of an African National Congress (ANC) and Democratic Alliance (DA) coalition and that will bode well for the South Africa’s economy and potential future investment into the country.

“Well, there are two case scenarios here. Based on numerous assessments by economists local and international including Dawie Roodt is that the ANC/DA coalition will be good for the markets and bolster the investor confidence. We do know that the Democratic Alliance, its policies and its posture mainly resonates with the Western markets and it is pro -business. So to a certain extent, if the ANC would partner with the Democratic Alliance going towards the formation of the new government, that would bring to a certain extent confidence in the economy.”
