African National Congress (ANC) Deputy President David Mabuza says the party will overcome the financial problems affecting the payment of salaries of the employees. The party has been struggling to pay the employees’ salaries since last year.

South Africans go to the polls in Local Government Elections on November with the electorate to consider issues including the financial performance of parties when they decide who will govern their towns and cities.

Speaking during the election campaign at Mankweng outside Polokwane in Limpopo, Mabuza said they are dealing with the challenge.

“It’s a family problem and as a family we are dealing with that problem at home. People are not happy, it has affected families, it has affected children and we are dealing with, it we will overcome,” says Mabuza.

Mabuza has expressed optimism about the party’s performance in the upcoming Local Government Elections.

Mabuza says the electorate still has respect for the governing party despite the service delivery challenges they are encountering.

“We are very happy about the respect that our people are giving us. We need to shape ourselves otherwise there’s still nothing wrong with our people. Our people are telling us about two things here, they have a problem with sanitation, a problem with flooding into their houses when it is raining they have got a problem with water. We are very encouraged that all are saying they are going to vote ANC,” says Mabuza.
