Another learner from the Pretoria High School for Girls has been suspended for allegedly making statements with racial undertones.

This was recorded in a video in February this year that has since gone viral on social media.

Twelve learners at the school have been suspended after they were implicated in controversial WhatsApp group conversations that were allegedly filled with racial comments and complaints about black pupils.

The school principal Phillipa Erasmus has also been slapped with a three-month suspension pending investigations into the matter.

Gauteng Education Department’s Steve Mabona says the School Governing Body will initiate a formal disciplinary process in due course.

“The Gauteng Department of Education is firmly committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all learners. We just wish to call upon parents, we need to work together and make sure that our children are disciplined at all times in our schooling environment.”
