Polokwane City and Golden Arrows have continued their perfect start to the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.

City, who beat AmaZulu in Polokwane in round one, recorded a two-nil victory against newcomers Magesi FC at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

Puleng Tlolane and Sibusiso Tshabalala scored either side of half-time. It was a home match for Magesi.

And in Hammarsdale, Golden Arrows who upset Stellenbosch FC in Cape Town in round one, also made it two wins from two matches.

They hosted Marumo Gallants and although the visitors from Bloemfontein applied all the pressure in the opening half, it was Arrows who managed to convert both of their attempts that were on target.

The first by Knox Mutizwa was scored against the run of play, while an unmarked, Nduduzo Sibiya, converted from a free kick to make it two-nil at half-time.

That was also the score at the final whistle, a result that sees Golden Arrows at the top of the Betway Premiership for the time being.
