Free State police have confirmed that the bodies of two boys who went missing in Springfontein on Sunday have been found.

It’s alleged that the boys, Lesedi Phepeng and Rethabile Motloung, were last seen playing around midday.

They were reported missing at the police station after their grandparents looked for them.

Provincial police spokesperson Loraine Earle says the police were then informed that the boys were found in a fridge on the day they disappeared.

“Two boys aged 6 and 7 were reported missing and soon after they were found in an old fridge in a garage, they were declared dead on the scene. No foul play is suspected at this stage and the police have opened an inquest for investigation.”
