Cape Flats shooting claims two lives

Two people, including a 15-year-old girl, have been gunned down in a shooting incident at Bainskloof Street in Tafelsig in Mitchells Plain on the Cape Flats.

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg says they responded to a complaint that led to the recovery of the victims’ bodies.

He says two other victims aged 23 and 16 were wounded.

“The 24-year-old and 15-year-old victims were declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel while the other victims were taken to a medical facility for medical treatment.”

“According to reports, unknown suspects approached the victims on foot and started shooting at them before fleeing the scene. The motive for the attack forms part of the police investigation,” adds Twigg.
