Law enforcement agencies will be out in full force at beaches and other public spaces as thousands of Capetonians are expected to spend their Day of Goodwill outdoors.

The 26th of December, also known as Boxing Day, is traditionally a beach day across the country.

The City of Cape Town has put a number of measures in place to ensure that strict protocols apply.

These include no alcohol on beaches, tags for children so that they do not get lost and strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols.

Deputy Mayor, Eddie Andrews says, “With the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of people have been working from home and now want to be out there as much as possible. I want to urge members of the public to please be mindful of each other when entering shared spaces. If you see the place is packed, kindly consider coming back at another time when there are fewer people around so that we can practice social distancing.”
