Traditional Leaders Organisation, Contralesa says government and other stakeholders must amend policies regarding admission at initiation schools.

Contralesa president, Kgosi Larmeck Mokoena says some initiation schools admit boys as young as seven-years-old.

Mokoena says they may be forced to take action against those who will be found to admit young boys at their initiation schools.

“Contralesa learns with shock that some of the owners of these initiation schools are admitting young boys as young as seven and eight-years-old, and that is not acceptable and shocking. We want to advise all the owners of schools not to do that and to stop immediately, and if you are found doing that, we will be left with no choice but to take action against you. We want to call parents as well to desist from sending young boys of that age because it is not assisting the system in any way.”
