The High Court in Thohoyandou, Limpopo, is today expected to deliver judgment on whether multiple murder accused, Enoch Ndou, is fit to stand trial or not.

The psychiatric report indicates that although Ndou is fit to stand trial, he should not be held criminally liable for the crime as he was not in the right frame of mind when it happened.

He’s accused of shooting seven of his relatives in Jimmy Jones village outside Malamulele on Christmas Day in 2021.

The report recommends that Ndou be sent to a mental facility.

Ndou completed a 30-day mental evaluation at Hayani Psychiatric Hospital at Sibasa near Thohoyandou in September last year.

During previous sittings, the prosecution argued that the psychiatric report shouldn’t be considered.

The defence wants its client not to be tried, arguing that he is mentally unstable.
