Currie Cup final to be televised live on SABC 2 on Saturday

The final of one of the oldest rugby competitions in the world, the Currie Cup, will be televised live on SABC 2 on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions clash with the Sharks at Ellis Park in Johannesburg at 4 PM.

SuperSport and the SABC confirmed that fans who do not have access to DSTV will be able to watch the spectacle.

This comes on the back of strong relations developing between the two broadcasters, following sub-licensing agreement entered into for the broadcast of domestic football matches.

This rights package includes a total of 51 matches comprising of 23 Betway Premiership matches, 10 Carling Black Label Cup matches, 12 Nedbank Cup matches, and six National First Division matches.

The league matches will be broadcast every Saturday on SABC 1 during the league season.
