Domestic violence leads to murder and suicide in Limpopo

The family of a 25-year-old woman, who was hacked to death at Ha-Mashau Misevhe village outside Louis Trichardt in Limpopo, say they are still reeling in shock at how she was killed.

Gumani Mukwevho was allegedly killed by her partner who later hanged himself at their home.

Their bodies were discovered by a family member who notified the police.

Family spokesperson Rendani Mukwevho says they have been together since high school.

“We never thought that they have problems in their marriage but they never showed any signs of violence in their union. Even my sister never told me about anything bad that might have been happening in their relationship. We are still in shock as a family. My mom is struggling to come in terms with everything that happened when she entered the room where everything happened. We would appreciate any help from the community. The funeral will be this coming Saturday,” Mukwevho added.
