Western Cape police seize drugs worth R2 million

Police in the Western Cape have seized drugs with an estimated street value of around R2 million on the N12 at De Rust in the Garden Route District.

Arrive Alive says in a statement that K9 unit members were on patrol when they noticed a suspicious vehicle.

They pulled it over at a vehicle check point and found 40 mandrax parcels hidden in a compartment at the back of the vehicle.

The parcels contained 40 000 mandrax tablets. The driver has been arrested on a charge of dealing in drugs.

He will appear in court on Friday.
