Durban FilmMart festival zooms in on local, global film industry

The 15th Durban FilmMart will be looking into projects that are still in development from across the globe.
The movie and documentary festival themed “African Visions Unleashed: From Disruption to Accountability” is set to take place from July 19th until 22nd of July 2024 in Durban.
Film industry makers will discuss what’s happening on the continent in terms of the film industry and where investments should be directed.
Director of the Durban FilmMart Institute, Magdalene Reddy says this year they are bringing together 30 projects in development.
“These are 10 documentaries and section 8 animation projects that have been selected. The projects have gone through a process of mentorship to prepare them for the market where they will be pitching to sales agents’ broadcasters, finances and funders with the hope that this content would be made and reach screens big and small.
