EC police arrest man in connection with triple murder in Gqeberha

The Eastern Cape Police have arrested a 29-year-old suspect in connection with the triple murder of three men between the ages of 19 and 59 years-old at Bethelsdorp in Gqeberha.

Police Spokesperson, Priscilla Naidu, says police responded to a complaint of shooting where they found two bodies lying 50 mitres of each other.

Naidu says it’s alleged the third man was shot while running to a nearby house.

She further says that the suspects were spotted running and fired shots at the police to which the police retaliated.

“A 29-year-old suspect was arrested and three firearms were found hidden underneath a broken vehicle. A case of murder with three counts will be opened for investigation. The suspect will be detained on charges of murder and attempted murder for shooting at the police. Additional charges may be added as the investigation unfolds,” says Naidu.
