Egypt ready to bid for 2036 Summer Olympics

Egypt has declared its desire to bid for the Summer Olympics in 2036 and 2040, a move that would bring the Olympics to African soil for the first time.

The announcement was made by Mustapha Berraf, head of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa on the final day of the Paris 2024 Games.

Egypt has been steadily improving its infrastructure and sports facilities, positioning itself as a strong contender for the prestigious event.

Countries such as Indonesia, India, Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have all expressed interest in bidding for the 2036 Olympics.
