The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) has urged owners of vehicles that police impounded before the end of last year to claim them before 3pm on Friday afternoon.

A total of 141 vehicles have been impounded.

EMPD spokesperson Zweli Dlamini says if vehicles are not collected, they will be disposed of.

“Since last week, we have been calling them to come and claim their vehicles. To come and claim your vehicle, you need to bring the pound fee, proof of ownership of the vehicle, you need to bring the owners ID, and you need to bring a copy of the vehicle registration certificate. We appeal to owners to please honor this call by the municipality,” adds Dlamini.
