Employee who alleges corruption at municipality faces disciplinary

An employee who accused the Mogalakwena Local Municipality in Limpopo of using some projects to siphon off millions of rands is facing a disciplinary hearing.

Mayor Ngoako Taueatsoala addressed the media on the corruption allegations that Victor Mokonyane made on social media platforms. Mokonyane is accused of bringing the municipality into disrepute.

Taueatsoala has denied all of the allegations, adding Mokonyane has not been suspended.

“The charge sheet has already been given to Mr Mokonyane to go for the disciplinary process.  Mr Mokonyane is on sick leave, he is not at work, so, they just sent him the charges. If you suspend somebody who is already at home, it is just a waste of time, he received his charge sheet.”
