The community of Evaton West in Gauteng says they hope that law enforcement agencies will bring justice for the three learners that died on Monday of suspected food poisoning.

The three siblings attended the Evaton Primary School, in Sebokeng.

The local councillor in the area and the Gauteng Department of Education has visited the family to extend their condolences.

“We are very saddened as the community of Evaton West Ext. 11 following a tragedy that occurred in the Makgatta family. We have formed a combination as the community to assist this family in any way and we hope that the police will do justice and arrest the perpetrator,” says councillor Rethabile Hlakani.

The Gauteng Education Department also visited the family earlier.

” There is a committee that we have established which will be looking at two things, arrangement of the memorial service and the funeral and look at other things that are required by the family. So, the committee will be assisting us to facilitate that process,” says spokesperson Steve Mabona.
