Five killed in Kagiso vehicle crash

Five people have been killed in a collision between two vehicles in Kagiso, east of Johannesburg.

Preliminary reports suggest that one of the drivers attempted to overtake in a prohibited spot.

Three of the deceased were occupants of one of the vehicles.

The Gauteng Traffic Police Spokesperson, Obed Sibasa, says police are investigating the cause of the collision.

“One male driver of a Toyota Quantum, three males and one female from a VW Polo were certified dead at the scene. The major fatal crash is under investigation. As part of the October Transport Month, we have intensified our 365 days roads safety plans and advice road use to respect rules of the road.”
