Four Comrades Marathon Association Board members resign

The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) has confirmed that four Board members have resigned with immediate effect.

This comes just a week after a Board member was banned for life and another cleared of racism during a special general meeting held in Pietermaritzburg.

The members who tendered their resignation include the CMA Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, Mqondisi Ngcobo and Leslie Burnard.

Ngcobo said the past few weeks have taken a toll on the members of the Association but added that the embattled Association and the race were in a very good space.

CMA elders, Jeff Minnaar and Peter Proctor, as well as CMA member, Busani Ndlovu, have been appointed as Appointee Board Members.

Minnaar and Proctor will both serve as Interim Chairpersons until the Annual General Meeting is held in November this year.
