Four nabbed for fraud in Western Cape

Police in the Western Cape say they have arrested two women and two men in their 30s on charges of fraud and selling petroleum gas.

Police say in a statement that members attached to Paarl East Police Station and others were part of the operation.

One of those arrested – a 39-year-old male was taken into custody for fraud, forgery and uttering.

Officers say he is accused of misrepresentation of a doctor and selling sick notes. Several printing machines, computers, sick notes, petroleum gas and scales were found and confiscated.

The four have been detained at Paarl East Police Station and will appear in the Paarl Magistrates Court on Monday.
