Fraud case against former Northern Cape HOD, co-accused postponed

The fraud case involving former Northern Cape Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture head, Ruth Palm and her two co-accused has been postponed for pre-trial by the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court.

Palm, Chief Director of Corporate Services Bonakele Jacobs and Chief Financial Officer Andrian Coleridge face charges of fraud, money laundering and contravention of the Public Finance Management Act.

They allegedly paid a service provider R1.6 million for a festival that was scheduled to take place in Colesberg in 2016 but never occurred.

The three accused made a brief appearance in court, and the matter was postponed.

They are all out on R10 000 bail.
