The Mpumalanga police have made yet another discovery of a body of a 46-year-old woman from kaMphatseni in Masoyi near Hazyview. The woman was kidnapped by three unknown armed suspects while at home on Sunday just after midnight.

Her body was found with multiple injuries and a rope around her neck.

Shongwe’s family is devastated. The deceased’s sister, Thobile Shongwe says they want to know what led to her brutal killing.

“She was kidnaped and we couldn’t find her and days after her body was discovered at the cemetery and she was lying down, undressed on her upper body and it looked like she was dead for days.”

The family says the mother of seven had a misunderstanding with her partner whom she has been living with. The two had been separated for a month.

“As a family we are confused we don’t know anything. But the man she was staying with there were no longer staying together. He left her with kids and he went to rent his own place. We were with him on Sunday when we were searching for her but when we found her he was no where to found.”

“We received information of a body that was dumped in the grave, fortunately of the family of the kidnapped lady came and they confirmed that it is their relative. For now no one was arrested. We have set up a team of investigators.”

Shongwe will be laid to rest on Monday.
