[GRAPHIC] Family of murdered 74-year-old in Limpopo demands answers

The family of a 74-year-old woman hacked to death in Mahwelereng in Mokopane in Limpopo say they are still reeling in shock at how their mother was killed.

The woman was attacked with a hoe at her home on Sunday.

The deceased’s son, Moloko Mphukubje, says they still have unanswered questions about events that led to their mother’s death.

“The questions we are asking ourselves as a family are, what really happened because we know that our mom did not owe this man? And this man was just a tenant who we barely know. He only stayed in our neighborhood for a month. He even used to come to my mom and ask for his food to be stored in the refrigerator and because my mom was a caring person, was a generous person, she used to accommodate everyone without choosing as to whether you are coming from which country. But what he did really, we are still asking ourselves,” says Mphukubje.

So far, a 40-year-old foreign national who moved to the area a month ago has been arrested for the killing.
