Inmate escapes from police custody in Limpopo

Limpopo police are searching for an inmate who escaped from police custody.

Police say that 33-year-old Pfunzo Ramafamba escaped when he was about to appear at Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court.

Police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba says Ramafamba is facing charges of assault and intimidation.

“The 33-year-old accused escaped from custody on Tuesday morning when he was about to attend court at Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court. Ramafamba was detained on charges of assault GBH and intimidation. The circumstances surrounding the escape are still under police investigations.
