Management of the Karl Bremer Hospital in Bellville in Cape Town says it will decommission the hospital as a vaccination site by the end of August.
The hospital says this is because more sites aimed at bringing vaccination close to the people have opened in the northern suburb.
The site first opened its doors to the public in May this year with more than 18 000 vaccinations administered.
Thirteen other vaccination sites have been opened in and around this Northern Tygerberg sub-structure
On Tuesday, the province administered 28 540 vaccines, bringing the total number of COVID-19 vaccinations to 1 360 523.

Vaccinations for the homeless
Last week, the province began administering COVID-19 vaccines to homeless people, including those who do not have identification documents have begun in the Western Cape.
It’s estimated that over 14 000 people are homeless in Cape Town.
Non-profit organisations have worked closely with the Department of Health to find ways of ensuring that those without ID’s, who are eligible, are not left behind.
A pilot project, using the single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine has been rolled out at a homeless shelter in Cape Town:
