Lusikisiki residents shocked by mass shooting

Residents are still in shock following the mass murder of 17 at Ngobozana area in Lusikisiki in the Eastern Cape.

It is alleged that heavily armed people opened fire to a group of people in two different homesteads.

The majority of those killed were women.

One of the residents, Nomnikelo Ndlovu, says she was in one of the houses but says she managed to hide.

Ndlovu says, “We were preparing for unveiling, we heard gunshots and doors that were kicked. There was a constant sound of gunshots, we tried to hide and three people were shot. We are still traumatised, we haven’t healed.”
