The South African Ambassador to the Netherlands, Vusi Madonsela, and the acting Chief State Law advisor at the Department of International Relations, Andre Stemmet, will present South Africa’s oral arguments at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

The World Court is hearing oral submissions on Israeli settlements in Palestine and East Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Authority has called on the international community to support Palestinians.

Palestine’s Representative to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, was frank about Palestinians’ challenges.

“What does international law mean for Palestinian children and Gaza today? It has protected neither them nor their child. It has not protected their families or communities. It has not protected their lives or limps, their hopes or homes. We are a proud and resilient people that has endured more than its share of agony. It is so painful to be a Palestinian today.”

Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister Al Maliki says the ICJ must declare Israel’s occupation as illegal and it must end. He says apartheid is imposed on the Palestinian people.
