The Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court has denied Pastor Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng and his bodyguard bail.

Mboro’s son, Revival Motsoeneng has however been released on warning with conditions.

This after a video that went viral on social media showing the trio, armed with pangas and a gun, forcibly entering Matshidiso Primary School in Katlehong.

The men are facing charges of kidnapping, assault, intimidation and contravention of the Dangerous Weapons Act.

Earlier, State prosecutor in the case, Phehello Vilakazi said the safety of the state witnesses will be compromised if Mboro and the other two accused were released on bail.

They have been charged with assault, intimidation and contravention of the Dangerous Weapons Act.

The state opposed the accused bail application, while the three pleaded not guilty. The court heard that Mboro has been arrested nine times however, the cases are still under investigation.

State prosecutor Phehello Vilakazi said Mboro gave the police addresses that could not be verified.

“We don’t know where accused number one lives, judging by the multiple premises he gives. Will the release on bail of accused one, two and three, will it not endanger the safety of the public? These are the people who have the audacity to go to a primary school with guns or rifles and expose kids to AK47”
