The cross examination of ballistic expert Colonel Chris Mangena is expected to continue Monday morning as the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial has adjourned for the day.

Colonel Mangena has been testifying about the murder weapon that was allegedly confiscated from accused number 3 Mthobisi Mncube in 2015.

Colonel Mangena says the test results for that firearm tested positive and were verified by four of his colleagues.

Presiding Judge, Ratha Mokgoatlheng, has requested that those officers also be called to testify in court.

“I’ve listened to the evidence. Normally, my discretion should be used at the end of the cross examination. But because of the nature of the evidence which has been led here, ballistics, I intend calling the four, four persons who you say assisted you.”
